How To Make An Appointment

At Blackford Veterinary Surgery Referral, patient care is our number one priority. To be able to appropriately schedule your pet, we must receive a referral from your primary care veterinarian. This allows us to make sure our services will be beneficial to you and your pet.
Your primary care veterinarian submits a referral form
We reach out to you within 24-48 hours

Once we receive the referral from your primary care veterinarian, we will call you with the numbers provided on your referral form. Please be sure your primary care veterinarian has the most recent telephone numbers and email address for you! We will reach out to you within 24-48 hours. Please understand that this time frame is to allow us to obtain medication records and radiographs, if applicable, for your pet. The time frame also takes into account the incredible influx in patients that are in need of our services. Please trust and understand that we will reach out to you as soon as possible!

If you have not heard from our office in 48 hours after your primary care veterinarian submitted your pets’ referral, please call or email our office. Please note that our office is not open on the weekends. Referrals submitted on Fridays will be responded to by end of the day on Tuesday.

If you fear that your pet is in emergent need of veterinary medical or surgical care, please contact the University of Tennessee (865-974-8387) and/or the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center (865-693-4440). Blackford Veterinary Surgery Referral can assist with time sensitive referral cases, but not emergent/life threatening referral cases.
